Our items are sustainably sourced and hand collected from second hand resale outlets such as Estate + Yard sales, Consignment shops and Non-profit Thrift stores.
What is an "Upscale Resale Boutique"?
We like to think of our "Resale Vintage Online Shop" as an "Upscale Resale Boutique" because we offer items which have been hand selected and curated with quality and style in mind.
What do you mean to suggest when you say "Sustainably sourced"?
Our items are labelled sustainably source as we rarely buy "Newly made" items from the source. We purchase most of our items in the second hand market, from Estate sales, Yard sales, Consignment shops, Non-profits thrift shops and directly from style conscious consumers like you and me.
[We strive to only shop enroute or while in the 'vicinity' of said shops & sales to limit our carbon footprint.]
IN WHAT OTHER CAPACITY ARE THE DAILY OPERATIONS, OF FASHIONABLY GREEN 1, ALSO DEEMED SUSTAINABLE?
1. We utilize a professional Jiffy Steamer in-house to eliminate excess waste of dry cleaning supplies.
[BONUS! Our purchase benefited Breast Cancer research]
2. We utilize an ink-less heat activated label printer for labels and stickers.
3. We created a "Thank You Tape" to help us to eliminate inserting a "Thank You" card within outgoing packages; utilizing it as the tape that holds the wrapping in place.
[Our shipping "tapes" also eliminating the need to use excess clear shipping tape]
4. We cut the "white space' off of all outgoing labels, in order that we can later utilize them as labels for storage, as tape or as a "text concealer" on paper.
[Fun fact! = We have never had to purchase white labels to label our inventory or a text concealer in all our years of being in business]
5. We save all the bags from bulk purchases to transport our items from our location to community events.
6. We have amassed such a huge collection of clips & rubber bands from local fashionistas, that we have never had to buy any.
[Our shipping "tapes" also eliminating the need to use excess clear shipping tape]
7. We donate nearly all of our un-sold items to local Free-stores or to local non-profit thrift stores.
8. We reuse our inventory numbers and product tags until they cannot be utilized any more.
9. We don't "cut the ends off" - in order to reuse our plastic tag holders.
10. We re-use all bags, office supplies and boxes; which have been collected for us by other Green Fashionistas, as well as all of our own collected supplies which we have amassed during normal business operations.
[Fun fact! = We have never purchased zip lock bags or storage bags because we wash every re-usable bag and utilize only those which have been saved by fellow fashionistas like you!]
11. Our items are repaired, mended or reconstructed locally.
